This Semi Annual Maintenance Kit includes all Fluval recommends for semi-annual maintenance. This includes the Quick-Clear Water Polishing Pad & Carbon, which should be replaced every month, and the Bio-Foam Value Pack (Bio-Foam, Bio-Foam Max and Bio-Foam ), which should be replaced every six months. Also included are the Ammonia Remover, Phosphate Remover & Nitrite Remover. These are all optional pads, but if you use them they should be replaced monthly. Be sure to unplug your filter before cleaning. Replace your media with all the included media. You should replace only half of your BioMax every six months (BioMax included). If you're using BioTerra (not included) you'll also want to replace half. The Inland Seas Super Lube is for lubricating the Motor Head Gasket, AquaStop O-Ring Gaskets, and Primer Assembly with Primer Cover. Clean before lubricating.
